Hello, deciding to repower my boat as it was in the plan when I bought it 18 months ago. It current has twin 150s that are 2010s. 1300 hrs +/- . They both run excellent. I have had them 45-60 miles offshore on regular basis for the the last 18 months, and wouldn't hesitate to do it tomorrow.
When I bought the boat from the second owner, he had bought it with knocking engines from running them too far up when flushing. He had new blocks and everything associated with that by an authorized Honda mechanic installed, and showed me the paperwork. This was at 1050/1080 hrs.
They don't burn oil, and run smooth. On the counter rotating motor, I personally put a brand new Honda lower unit on it last winter, ($2300) as when changing the seals, the case cracked. Also on port motor, I put a new throttle body from Honda ($775) on there as the throttle position sensor had a dead spot in in between 4100 rpms and 4400 rpms. Tested the TPS and sure enough, lost continuity during the butterfly stroke. Prior to that, I put all new fuel injectors on this motor before i discovered TPS was faulty.
I am asking $5000 for the motors. They are still on the boat and can be test driven if you are in or willing to drive to near Raleigh, NC. Or can do a video call with me while I'm on the boat.
Price includes all associated rigging for the motors, but not the props. I think I'll still be able to use mine when I re power.
Also includes a complete set of fuel filters, plugs, oil filters, water pumps, t stats, and rubber o rings for vst's. Even though i just cleaned them this year.
