Shifting out of forward gear Not actuating the interrupter "sometimes"

I have had several people tell me over the last couple of years that when shifting out of forward (not reverse) the interrupter switch is not always activated. I have even seen this with my own boat.

Now I have replaced hundreds of short shift cables and never have a problem setting them up for proper shifting.

What I have noted is since the introduction of the black Teflon coated inner core this issue has become more noticeable.

Anyone else seen this and if so what may be the corrective action?

NOTE: this is the older style shift bracket set up with the long armed micro switch with the roller end.

Got it

Thanks

That explains it

I new about the old service bulletin regarding the older style switch and the arm bending vs the new style arm that was reinforced but never looked or seen this update on current roller type switches.
