Spammers suck and should just be removed ,permenently

Nice thought but not practical. Spammers use different bogus IDs every time they post. These is a way to stop automated spam posters, however, if a spammer takes the time to do it manually, there isn't much that can be done... other than making this site a "paid only" to post site. Some sites control this by requiring that posts be read by a human moderator ( at least the first post from a new member) before getting posted, which would cripple this site. Other sites have a team of volunteer trusted moderators that keep tabs on the forums and delete offending posts. Typically, these are non commercial sponsored sites ( this one is commercial).
The best defense is quick action by this site's administrator. Or possibly a "report this post" button that could be operated only by folks with a high number of posts. IT should be noted that this forum uses "canned" software and the administrator is limited to those features that are "part of the package"

Hey Guys, Just an update. I try to pop in to check the Forum pretty frequently during the day M-F 8-5pm EST. I also check from home on the weeknds. Sometimes I don't get to check until later in the day. I will try checking in the am then again later in the day. I know these automated spam bots are a pain. Thank you to all of the members out there for your comments and more importantly, your help for all that ask for help and suggestions on our Boat Repair Forum.

coming to your neck of the woods next week. Shelton Washington

Excellent..... that's about 135 miles north of me up near the Hoods Canal area. It is a very pretty area!

Further north is the Olympic Peninsula, Olympic National Park, Olympic National Forest, Strait of Juan de Fuca, Victoria BC, and so much more.
Great cruising areas as well!

I hope you have time to travel further north.
