Stuck driveshaft in power head

All, I had posted previously about replacing water pump and realized the driveshaft was completely stuck. Lots of pounding and soaking to no avail. I started thinking of how to replace pump with this condition. It is possible to do with a 20” shaft. Cannot verify a short shaft but would think so. I originally was going to bore holes in side of 5” spacer and then cap plug them after assembly. I assembled almost everything together except thightening water pump bolts.i realized that the lower unit will sway about an inch apart side to side. Enough to get socket swivel in to tighten bolts. It works!!! I will try to post vid and pics. Since the pump had not been changed in forever, it may not be possible to salvage anything when disassembly. Just break pump housing, e
