Suzuki DF 250 Engine cutting off and electrical failure

"On 3 occassions now my df 250

"On 3 occassions now my df 250 has completely shut down while driving around 4800 rpms most of the time. The engine will then sometimes not start and I will have no power to the key or throttle but the trim on the engine itself will work. The last time this occured I was stuck for four hours so I eliminated all in line fuses and still did not work. I checked fuses under cal of engine and they were fine and seem to work since when taken out I had no trim at the engine but when replaced I did. I called a friend to tow me in and then all of the sudden it fired up when I tried it again. I quickly got back and trailered the boat and stopped and started the engine several times and it is working fine. This seems to be random but why would I lose power to the key,guages, and throttle but not the trim on the engine itself. I can not repeat this situation so am at a loss as what to tell the boat shop to work on?"

Thanks. I will bring to shop today and make them replace the key switch. Hopefully will not post on this subject again cuz that means I was stranded again. By the way nice site its been added to list and I will be joining.

Did replacing the ignition switch solve the issue??

I’d suggest you start your own post detailing exactly what’s happening, hours on the engine, year and model and recent maintenance done.
