I bought a 1996 Force 90 hp to replace a blown 1996 75 hp Tracker by Mercury. The 90 hp is missing the flywheel a starter. My thought was I could use the 75 hp starter and flywheel and starter not knowing the 90 hp has the Chrysler block with Mercury electronics and lower unit.
The flywheel will bolt on and seems the right size to align with the starter but I found the 75 hp starter has 10 teeth and the starter to fit the the 90 hp has nine (different mounting).
Can I swap the starter gears from the 90 hp on new starter with the correct mount and use my existing flywheel?
Is there a timing difference between the flywheels that won’t work?
Sorry for the long post. Just trying to explain it well.
