Trim and tilt for Mercury 1972 motor

i have a 1973 classtron boat i

i have a 1973 classtron boat it has a 1972 mercury 115 inline 6cyl on it i am wanting to know if anybody knows how to fill hydrolick fluid it has a flat plug in the bottom that looks like a 1/2 in rattchet will fit into is that where i fill it at i tryed to put some pics on but they were to big and if plug in bottom is where i fill how do i fill and how much Thanks For All Your Help >Ron C

"Ron, That motor would have originally had the PTT motor and pump in the boat and two trim cylinders on the motor, connected to the trim motor/pump assembly by 4 pressure hoses. The non-PTT models had two shocks on the sides. These were not refillable. 5W-30 motor oil was used to fill the pump resvoir. A straight slot bright aluminum screw was the fill point."

"Ron, To fill the pump, just squirt the 5W-30 oil into the hole. To bleed the trim cylinders is a different matter. There is a bleed screw on top of each cylinder. These need to be removed individually and the motor run in the down direction, until all the air is expelled and oil shoots out. Now you need to remove the cylinders and find the other bleed screw near where the two hoses attach. Face the hole up, remove the bleed screw and run the pump in the up direction until the air is expelled. Repeat with the other cylinder. Refill the pump."
 
I have a 1985 75hp outboard m

I have a 1985 75hp outboard mercury. when I try to tilt the motor all I get is a clicking sound.
Can you help? would it be a bad connection or a bad motor. Can you raise the motor manually?

Irv the clicking is the soleno

Irv the clicking is the solenoid you hear. It could be caused by 1) a bad/corroded connection 2) a weak battery or 3) a bad solenoid
