Trim Sender wiring

Two wires go to the Trim Sender unit - one has about 1"bare metal exposed

I want to coat the exposed wire with solder , but I do not know if this will cause damage to the Trim Sender. I believe that it would but ?
My only other option is electrical tape = the boat is a 27ft Carver and is not in the water.

All thoughts are appreciated.

Ayuh,....... I'd go with a piece of sealable heat-shrink tubing,.....

Can also use liquid electrical tape if they are soldered together already did that with mine a few years back and held up for a couple years until my bellows needed replacement
