I'm replacing the trim sensor on my 1996 SX outdrivedrive. I have good mechanical skills with a good set of tools but no experience working on outdrives. With the help of a manual is this a difficult job? I plan to purchase a Seloc manual. Are there any others published I should consider? Thanks for any advise.

"Ed,
I just cut the wires and spliced the new sensor on. Slip a piece of heatshrink onto each individual wire and then a larger size over both wires, solder the joints, apply silicone and slip heatshrink over while silicone is still wet, heat the heatshrink and then slide the larger piece of heatshrink over the whole lot with more silicone and heat again. Clean up while silicone is still wet and you'll have a sealed joint with zero resistance. Check calibration and adjust accordingly. Saves a big job and I've had no issues to date with mine."
