Water in gas not sure where it came from?!?!

Hey yall. I got a 96 evinrude 112spl. It was running good put maybe 10 hrs on it running flawlessly. Went to the lake this weekend it started running like crap did some investigation and when I took the silencer off the front found a little milky gas in the front of the carbs. Had the same gas from that station in my truck no problems. Could it have came in the vent maybe the gas filler cap or where the gas hose plugs into the side of the motor? Clueless as to why it would come out of nowhere seemingly. Any suggestions or ideas where to start. I've got it all out just don't want it to happen again. Thanks again.

If it truly is water in the fuel, it probably came from the underground tanks at the gas station. Could be condensation from the atmosphere, but not likely in hot SC this time of year.

When the motor is running the carburetor gets cold.----Moisture in the air condenses on it.-----Any other trouble shooting done ?

got gas at the station snowmobile started running crappy, poured some gas into a glass looked like lemonade smelt like garabage
