What are those numbers?

For my Yamaha
30DEO
6J8 L 455099
G (=1988)
the lower end casing should be 6J8-45300-14-EK (I think).
I've found one casing numbered 6J8-45300-10-EK. What are those extra "14-EK" and "10-EK"?

The number indicate the variant of the lower unit. Starting with -00. Denotes some change has been made to the part.

The -10-EK was updated if you will to the -14-EK.

-EK denotes the paint code.

The lower unit casing is part number 6J8-45301-XX-XX. I suspect that you may be referring to the lower unit assembly.
The entire enchilada if you will.

The 6J8-45300-10-EK superceded to the -14-EK. No reason that I can see why the -10-EK will not work in place of the -14-EK.
