I have a Yamaha 225hp 4 stroke behaving very strangely. It has a new exhaust kit, new thermostats, new impeller and fully serviced.
my first run was ok, but it alarmed as soon as I returned to my mooring. the next run It alarmed after I put the boat on plane. then it started alarming overheating every time. No water is coming out of the thermostats when removed meaning that no water is circulating in the head, but I have a teltail flow. I poured descaler from the zinc anode ports on the head but still no luck. I attached water pipe to the flush port and no alarm when running in the sea on the mooring.
What can I do to unblock this blockage without dismantling the heads to access the water jackets?
