My Yamaha 9.9 was submerged in water (almost fresh) for 24 hours. I took it home, removed the plugs, sprayed cylinders with oil, emptied and refilled the engine and gear-house oil. I then put it in the sauna at 60°C for six hours. Not being able to start it I removed the carburetor and cleaned it with compressed air and there was water in it so I also put it in the oven at 60°C for four hours. After a hundred pulls and using start gas I managed to get it running for several minutes but it is very sensitive on the throttle. If I advance the throttle normally it wants to stall. It runs for a while on idle but not as it used to do but stops after five seconds. The plugs still look OK, slightly sooty. What needs to be checked or changed to make it run well again?
