Year date for Honda BF90A

Frame number BBBU-3000290. What year is that

Hi,
I tried to find it but couldn't. It's not listed on the charts I could dig up which probably doesn't surprise you.

AI says the BBBU frame series indicates it's a "Japanese and World distributed" model (whatever that's supposed to mean) and is designated as BF90AW but doesn't provide year of production.

You'll probably need to run that by a Certified Honda parts department because they will have the current documentation.

I did find some AW designations for a few models and one was for a 1998 90 but the chart was written in a language (Russian maybe) I can't decipher.
But if you're outboard seems to be old, it's possible that it's a 98.
Just guessing though.

Look up the operators manual for your frame number on line, seems to me there is a range there for those numbers. If you have the manual for your outboard, see what date it was printed- that’s close enough for looking up parts. For my 1999 130, my manual was printed in 1998 for instance, parts the same until about 2004.

Page 1 of the manual says printed in 1995, so your outboard would be in that range?

With this number, i think is a BF90AW, year 1998

The engine cover says 2006 EPA standard. So does this sticker.

That sticker means it’s meeting the 20@6 emissions, my 1999 has that too, you have a 1998.
