Friend said his diesel was stolen, he put new fuel in and tried used the lift pump to prime fuel, he tried turning over the motor and said it wouldn't go. He said that he thought fuel got into the crankcase. He said he didn't turn over the motor much in his attempt to turn it on. So it's very strange why it wouldn't turn over in the first place or how water would get in with so little turning over.
When I showed up we pumped nearly a full extractor tank of oil out. It was very thick. Other parts were watery.
We cracked different parts of the fuel system to run fuel through. It all had fuel. We tried the engine and it was really really hard to turn over. When we had the decompression switches open it was easier. I took off all the injectors and we cranked the motor, a bit of steam and mist came out from the farthest injector, we could spin the motor quite well. I reinstalled everything and again it would have a hard time turning over. So I again removed injectors and removed what little water was there. Same thing, no easy crank.
I removed lift pump to check for torn diaphragm to see if water was going into crank case from there. It was fine.
Took apart exhaust silencer and drained water from there. Closed seacock. Again it was hard to compress. But easier than start of day. Now we noticed white puffs of smoke when everything was tightly on, the middle cylinder would make the others really hard to turn. The white smoke came from the intake side, like out of the manifold or past the injectors, a little out of the intake silencer.
I opened the valve covers and checked for play or lagging exhaust or intake valve, everything "seemed" fine, visually couldn't tell if anything was wrong. I did hear a lot of burping sounds from the head exchanger.
I really hope we Didint bent a connecting rod or have a lagging valve. Or maybe we have burned the starter too much and it's not getting enough voltage to turn it over. At this point I'm lost.
Side note: middle injector seat comes out very easily. That little puck that is underneath the injector, it sits on top of it.
