The oil level is halfway on the crosshatch section so it will need a little more but unless there's a low oil switch that cuts fuel, that ain't it. Also: a little fuel shot in the intake makes it fire. Is there a solenoid on top of that carb not opening, or something like that, because all the other requirements are met.

There is no low oil sensor that prevents a Yamaha from starting.

The carburetor on that model has an automatic fuel enrichment device. Known as Primestart.

Suspect the carburetor needs to be cleaned and the Primestart device confirmed to be working properly.

Got a test procedure for me for that Primestart? Is that the device on the top with an electrical pigtail? Or is that just a choke? It's so lifeless I expect to find a big booger in the jets, but it ran fine up to last oct when I pulled it out.

Yup, that main jet was uuuuuugggly and so was the idle jet. Alll good now, but I need to do the prop seals and the seal collar oes NOT want to come off, and now that I jiggled it a bit after pulling the two bolts, if I just put those bolts back in it will probably leak even IF I can get the seals out the back. Any wisdom about gettting that seal collar off?
