My 2012 Tahoe Q5i with a 2022 4.3 Mercruiser engine loses power when turning right. It drops rpms and gets worse the sharper the turn is. Took it to a boat mechanic who was unable to diagnose the problem.

Only thing that make sense are fuel starvation/ delivery or bad gimbal and or ujointsMy 2012 Tahoe Q5i with a 2022 4.3 Mercruiser engine loses power when turning right. It drops rpms and gets worse the sharper the turn is. Took it to a boat mechanic who was unable to diagnose the problem.
Thank you.Only thing that make sense are fuel starvation/ delivery or bad gimbal and or ujoints
i did forget one thing the hull carves into the water so some need to throttle up is normal. are you saying it drops more when turning right vs left ?Thank you.
Straight and tuning left is fine, no issues. As soon as you begin turning right, the RPM’s begin dropping. The sharper the right turn, the worse the power loss is. Straighten out and everything goes back to normal. Does this every time you turn right. It is not intermittent.i did forget one thing the hull carves into the water so some need to throttle up is normal. are you saying it drops more when turning right vs left ?
It’s not intermittent. Happens every time you turn right. The power loss gets worse the sharper the turn is. Does not matter what speed you are going. Is it EFI? If so, then perhaps fuel sloshing in the vapor separator unit? An issue in there maybe. Dirt/bad float/bad inlet needle. Did you ever replace the water seperating fuel filter? Is it near full of water & allowing some to pass & again the sloshing to shift water to where it goes to the injectors in that right turn?
I'm assuming you are saying while on plane. As Dieter said above, hull carves & requires more power. So issue will be more obvious on plane. BUT, my questions are:
*Does the issue come & go like you're flipping a switch on & off? Or is it a slower onset & recovery?
*Does it happen at idle in neutral also? May require studying the tach to see a small RPM drop that you can't really feel.
*Same question but in gear at slow no wake speeds?
Verify that you don't have any interferance between the steering mechanism (cable mount tube & tiller arm) & wires. Particularly the shift interruptor wires that could be putting the engine into base timing mode or spark plug wires that could be causing a misfire.
