Just adding to this thread to help someone out. I too was able to remove and replace the belt without removing the crank pulley. This was on a 2020 BF250. Took a little massaging to get the teeth lined up on the crank and head pulleys but definitely can be done.
Rotate the belt flat and sneak...
I had a 2002 225 that corroded at the bottom cylinder where it meets the head on the port side. Symptoms similar to yours. Pulled the head and repaired with a metal epoxy Belzona.
Find the source and we can guide you from there.
After re reading looks like the problem follows the motor with portable or boat tank. Then I would check for a corroded needle and seat inside the vst.
There’s an oil seal at the base of the block that goes bad. Assume it drips when the motor is tilted?
The block need to be pulled to replace the seal unfortunately.
2020 BF250D flushed after every use. Thermostats have 150 hours. When running, I have water pumping out of the flush hose. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
I’m replacing my 02 BF225 with a 2020 Bf250. Will the harness and controls from the 02 hook up or do I need a harness adapter? Any other help appreciated. Thanks.
