Nothing wrong with 25 year old carbs, you clearly haven't done the job properlk. The slow running jets are very small and reading back, you probsbly have a thin film of varnish reducing fuel flow. Also, whenever you rebuild carbs, always check your float levels. These motors and carbs are not...
Just for the record, the dashpot has nothing to do with bogging under accelerstion, it's there to prevent the motor from cutting out when you snap the throttle shut, it causes a slight delay in the butterflies closing
Before you rip into it, are you certain you've got an overheat condition and you've pulled the exhaust side cover plate and checked the drain holes at the bottom below the anode are not blocked?
If you've done everything as Alan said he did and properly, then your only option is to pull the head off and have it professionally cleaned. I been ghete and tried cleaning myself and still had an overheat. There are tiny passages that get blocked and are inaccessible, unless you can chemically...
Agreed, sounds like O2 sensor issue. Ideally you need the proper diagnostics to find the issue, throwing parts at a problem can get pricey. The fact that it runs okay. The other thing to check is that your temp sensor values, could be telling the ecu it's at operating temp and has a lean cold start.
To clear up any questions, the only difference is the 225 has the vtec valve train, so did all the older v6 motors, it just won't be activated using the 200 ecm and harness. The harness and ecu are different, the rest including intake and throttle body are the same. This is what makes Honda...
