    Impeller kit for evinrude 9.5

OK, figuring this 1964 engine would need a new impeller, I pulled the lower unit off to inspect. Noticed there isn't a gasket where the impeller housing mounts to the lower unit. I guess the gasket that's included in the kit goes under the stainless steel plate only?. Just seems like it could...

Checking out old coils on 9.5 evinrude.

From what I'm seeing on utube video's a good primary reading is around 1 to 3 with meter sat on 200 ohms. My coils both read 1.2ohms ... Secondary readings are 3.2 and 3.4 ohms with meter set at 2000k Would new coils show much higher secondary reading's,and would higher secondary reading's...

Re placing plug wires and coils on my 9.5 evinrude

Had carb off putting a kit in. Didn't notice this plastic linkage thingy until an hour ago while checking throttle adjustment. It's greasy and appears to bump up to another plastic piece of throttle linkage. It's under the rich_lean tube

    What is decarbing ?

Guessing it has something to do with the pistons and head. With my compression readings at 60and 65psi, thought it might bring readings up some to try this? Referring to my 1964 9.5 evinrude sportwin. Directions would be appreciated.

Stripping flywheel nut trying to test compression on 1964 evinrude 9.5.

Hi everyone. Trying to run compression test on this old 9.5, but when I screw the tester in,the engine doesn't want to spin.Actually striped the nut holding flywheel. Remove the tester and engine spins over blowing what seems like good air from plug holes pretty sure I'm using the right fitting...
