    5.0 MPI manifold t-drain failure

Yeah. That's the part. The plastic bowl detached and filled the bilge. It was a new part straight out of the box. I'm guessing the ball floats and when the engine is running the pressure keeps the check valve closed. If I'm looking at the circuit diagram right all I'd have to do is swap them for...

    5.0 MPI manifold t-drain failure

Fitted new manifold/risers and new t-drain manifolds. First trip out and the starboard bowl on the t-drain blew off and flooded the bilge. What could cause this? Faulty part? Popped it back on and made it to the mooring at slow speed. Is this part of the single drain system? Can it be easily...

    BF5 Throttle/gear linkage help

It'll bug me for a while. But probably not enough to do anything about it now. I'll put them in an envelope for the next owner. Just realised my phone and laptop have different profiles. Must have forgotten about a saved password in Chrome.

    BF5 Throttle/gear linkage help

yeah, it's the pawl arm I was talking about. Just cant seem to work out how the spring clips on the pawl, nothing lines up, It's as if the spring arm is too long. Well, the spring and pawl are sat on the shelf at the moment, hopefully work out how to fit it sometime before I sell the engine...

    BF5 Throttle/gear linkage help

similar to the workshop manual. shows the parts but not how they go together properly. Theres no obvious way the spring or little black bit fits. It's only the mechanism to stop it starting in gear so not critical but would be nice to get it back on.

    BF5 Throttle/gear linkage help

Hi, just took the powerhead off to replace a corroded manifold, all gone ok until I tried to replace the throttle/gear column part with the spring on top. I've got the workshop manual but it's no help at all. Can anyone with a BF5 take a few close up pics of the spring and column for me to see...

    BF5 A advice

Nothing missing, took it all apart to check and exactly as is on the exploded diagram. Even the internal on the cog seems unworn, all the surfaces are good. Almost like there should be a hold down spring but according to the diagrams there isnt one . She sits slightly lower than that but not...

    BF5 A advice

Just picked up a cheap BF5 A and although it starts and runs ok it won't idle very well, guessing its a dirty carb but I've also noticed a water leak coming from underneath the condenser, dribbles down when running. Is this likely to be head gasket or is there something else there that could be...

    9.9 oil leak

Hi, hoping someone can help and maybe stop me wasting money. Just fired up my old 1980 9.9 which has been in the store for 5 yrs. Hoping to stick it on a little 4m inflatable for costal diving. Started first time , although a little smokey and fast revving at idle but that was due to stuck carb...
