    87 Mercury 2 stroke 150hp rough idle

Went thru quite a bit with this motor. First was when given gas would not take it for any time and die. With that said, turned out to be power pak on starboard side was bad. I also had all three carbs cleaned and checked out (needles etc) . Run like a rape ape when you hit the gas HOWEVER, low...

1960 Starcraft... Is it worth keeping

I restored a 1967 Starcraft and the engine is a 1962 Johnson 40hp. Lot of fun and I went and bought a newer boat to redo as well (1987 Stratos) BUT will not part with this 67. you got a fine looking vessel .

    87 Stratos Fiberglass hull Sticky

Bought this 1987 Stratos bass boat and just got done with all engine repair. Next up: Sticky hull: This boat was abused to say the least. I'm sure it's seen plenty of saltwater action as it did fresh. Much of the hull is very sticky and a little bit not. Without emptying my pocket , what would...

87 Mercury 150 HP 2stroke idles up then quits when given more gas

OK, now my last question. I put new fuel lines on engine. I was always told to make them the same length. This picture shows new line coping old line. I would think this would cause air pocket maybe when accelerating. It was strapped off this way as well, then goes between carbs to the other...

87 Mercury 150 HP 2stroke idles up then quits when given more gas

ok spark on all cylinder's so got that out of the way. open drain plugs on carbs and fuel came out clean. NOW the goodie I found was the old oil injector system was by passed but never capped. Now would this cause my problem since it would be sucking in air at the head? Picture below. I now have...

87 Mercury 150 HP 2stroke idles up then quits when given more gas

Ok here is the story. Bought this 1987 bass boat with a Mercury 150 horse 2 stroke engine. sat long time. I had to change out fuel lines from tank to motor plus change out fuel/water separator completely. Was filled with brown water it's been so long and relocated to a better area for proper...

    1987 bassboat - fuel/water separator location Thoughts

Good deal. The walls are heavy plastic it seems with insulted backing and will be able to use bolts with nuts etc instead of screws to hold it on. The walls do have movement but very little and strong. Bolts I'll use to help with any vibration that may occur.

    1987 bassboat - fuel/water separator location Thoughts

People I need your opinion on the placement of the gas/water separator on my boat At the moment it is all the way in back and to remove it, the only way was by removing fuel fill line from gas tank. To top it off its so tight back there a once a year replacement and/or as needed I just about get...

1987 Stratos bassboat dash questions plus

Thank you. The horn button makes perfect sense, it just had me wondering when the guy was pushing on it to start while turning the key LOL. Then I realized he never put in water and was guessing. The in dash depth finder I had no idea because of number. It says pull for suppression. That I don't...
