    I have a 1989 25hp Johnson outboard, and it’s having trouble staying at low idle.     Sorry if I do misunderstand. I did gap them, I read the repair manual, found the gap, and respaced them. Sorry I didn’t remember what measurement it was.

    Sorry I said this wrong. I said the spark plugs were spaced correctly, but what I meant is that yes, they are gapped at 3/8”.

    I did a compression test and replaced the spark plugs, but it did nothing. Could it be clogged fuel lines?

    I have a 1990 15hp Johnson outboard motor, and it starts great, just doesn’t keep an idle. Also, sometimes when I rev up the rpms it stalls, and starts struggling, then dies. I already checked compression, and the spark plugs. Could this be a timing problem
