Hope you had a good weekend gents!

As is the tradition I must share the photos the weld.

This shows everything from the outside.

This is the weld on the right bottom side.

Let me know what you think. I notice there are some shallow pits and a few low points. Not sure if I should be worried about that.

He did strike it many times with a heavy metal hammer trying to expose any fine cracks that would be forming. So I feel like it's a pretty strong weld.

Is there anything I can fill those shallow pits with before paint, or should I just cover it with high build primer?

I plan on painting the boat, but I was considering a short wet test on freshwater for 15 minutes before I paint. Is that bad? Or should I paint before I do the wet test?

That looks good the pitting just keep eye on them but I think he did good job

Is there anything I should coat this with for the short term? Should I be worried about corrosion while that metal is bare?

Not sure if its worth worrying about like the flash rusting on steel.

looks ok...

on the shallow pits, I would fill them with epoxy, especially where the transom plate gasket will go.

as for paint, I think sooner is better than later...just use a good aluminum primer and paint...in this area, you usually get what you pay for.
