I recently lost the ignition keys to my boat. It has a Johnson outboard. My question is, can the keys be replaced or will I need to replace the whole ignition switch?

Also try looking for a small number and /or letter on usually the front side of the key switch face… post the number as it may help us find something available for you.

The boat is a 1990 Northport Troller with an 89 Johnson 60hp motor. The only numbers I can find on the switch is, 139. which is on the body of the switch.

Looks like your blank cut key ought to be part number,

If possible, find your engine model number for parts look up from Marine Engine.com website inside the following link,

Search Remote Control, item number 37ish would be of your key switch should you have to go new...

Or, While I'm not exactly seeing yours right off, I've had pretty good luck using the following key website company called LOSTAKEY.NET
that tends to list just about every key type out there for almost everything that uses a key such as anything Marine, toolboxes, truck bed locks, etc. etc... You might want to try emailing them maybe with a few photos of the switch and see if they can come up with a match maybe using the 139 number as a starting point reference because if the 139 is your key number, then they'd be able to send you out a key already cut to fit your switch. https://www.lostakey.net/index.php?...earch_in_description=1&keyword=Johnson+marine

If it has an OMC control with the original switch, the key #s runs from the 50s to the 70s.
The number will be molded (as in black, not painted) into the black plastic end where key is inserted. Hard to read, may need bright light and a magnifying glass.
