Due to a very shallow water level, as I was approaching the dock, I inadvertently rose the engine as far as it could go. When I tried lowering it to lock it in for trailering home, the motor hummed when pressing the "up" button, but wouldn't go down after pressing that button. My "manual release" screw is stuck solid from the previous owner having it in salt water. Also, the head of that screw has been rounded down from someone trying to loosen it. I've contacted a machine shop regarding the removal of it, but in the meantime, I was hoping there was some way to "bleed" the lift-assist piston. I am assuming that would allow the engine to drop on its own. I certainly would appreciate any suggestions that might help me remedy this issue!
