Johnson Outboard Fuel Connector

I have a 2004 Johnson 10hp outboard motor (recently purchased) that didn’t come with a fuel hose. I’ve tried 3 different hoses, including a brand new one right out of the package, and all three squirt gas right out between the two connection points. Even though they clip in ok, there’s a slight gap between the hose connector and the engine input connector. This leads me to suspect it’s one of two things- 1) the connector on the engine needs to be replaced, or 2) Johnson motors require a particular kind of hose, and the ones packaged as “universal fit” won’t work properly (does Johnson make their own hoses that are unique to their motors?)

Anyone have any knowledge on this?

There are plenty of hoses listed as generic, or for Johnson Evinrude but in fact they’re Yamaha fittings. They look very close to the same, but the Yamaha A slightly bigger orifice. If you compare them side to side, looking at the little stainless steel ball in the end of the fitting, you will see the Yamaha one is noticeably bigger..
If you try to use one of them, they will leak fuel to the end of the day.
I have over half a dozen small joints in Evernote outboards right now, none of them does the fuel hose fit fitting fit exactly tight up against the fitting on the motor. That is no concern. The seal is from the O-ring inside the end of the fuel hose which seals around the round probe on the motor.

Thank you for the info- I'll get a Johnson hose!

They are NOT all the same here.----This motor does not use the standard hose / fitting for OMC.====( 5032152) for Johnson 2004 JOHNSUKI !----It uses a SUZUKI fitting.-----Find it here on this site or any competent boat shop.---Hose assembly is NLA from BRP.-----Your friendly Suzuki folks will help you out here !

I went on the assumption this is a 2 stroke OMC/BRP built motor. I've gone back & read the post again. I still find no reference to model number or if 2 or 4 stroke motor in this post.
* If it's 2 Stoke then my response & Edchris177 responce is correct.
* If it's a 4 Stoke, then Racer is correct, Suzuki built & requires a different connector.
Best to look up parts by Model# & not the assumed year.
