Lower unit bearing carrier seals

I have a 1984 evinrude 50 hp that I am changing the lower seals in the carrier the carrier has 3 bolts and the seal I ordered is way to big for the carrier any one know what seals I need

2nd, in order to buy the correct parts for an OMC motor you need to look them up by model number. Not by the assumed year.

What is your model number & what part number did you buy?

Agreed. Dave58 needs to go to the 1984 OMC 50HP Page and enter his model# to ensure the correct seals have been ordered. If the seals he purchased match up with part# on the diagram they should be good. If he has the correct parts and they still don't match his gearcase, then it sounds like some previous owner has swapped on a gearcase from a different model.
