Do you think it's the same distribution of 350 v8?
I find the distribution kit bolt ARP for Buick 350, the picture and number bolt are same but i don't know it's good for my engine ...

Yes i like this engine!

The distributor has to be the internally different because the distributor shaft cam has 6 lobes for the V6 and 8 for the V8. They may look very similar from the outside though. These will likely be old fashioned breaker point distributors with centrifugal spark advance. That’s how mine is (Prestolite).

Both V6 & V8 "Buick" engines used the GM distributors. The caps had the window to adjust the points (dwell) while running.

Points & condensers were the same. Rotors different because the V6 had a longer tang to compensate for varying firing pattern. Caps were obviously different between 6 & 8 cyl.

Ohhhh no i don't speak distributor, sorry for my english again 😅...
I don't find the bolts of the cover timing chain on internet, they are usa dimensions (the previous owner didn't leave the water pump, I don't have the small water pump screws, nor the timing chain cover screws on the water pump)
I find one kit: https://stores.partsdude4x4.net/timing-cover-and-water-pump-master-bolt-kit-225-231-v6/ but the price is 30€ and i have 40€ for shipping 😅...

If i have no choice i buy it, but if you have other idea I want to have your opinion or help🤷

The other thing you can do if you have a thread chaser kit with US sizes to figure out the thread pitch of the bolts. If it were me, I’d just buy that $30 kit. Too bad you get taxed so much but trying to source parts for an American engine last made over 50 years ago while you’re in Europe is very challenging. I’d pay the price & get it done…

Hello!

Now i've rebuild the engine 👌🤝
The bolt kit for cover timing chain and water pump it's perfect
When i desassembled the actual engine with the boat to changé the engine, I have to get the thermostat block and the carburetor for the rebuild engine.
For the moment the repaired engine is waiting quietly in the garage, I have to finish sanding my boat to repaint it. If the weather is right to sail with the boat, I will change the engine during the season 😅
I adjust the size of the photos as soon as I can to show you the evolution when I reassembled the engine parts

Another question, is he obliged to use lead additive being an old engine? Where can I just put regular gasoline without additives?

maybe...the big driver for the lead is the exhaust valve seats. If the remanufactured heads had hardened valve seats installed, there's no need for the lead.

good question but hard to answer due to the age of the engine, nearly all engines in the USA got hardened valve seats around 1971/1972 or so for unleaded gas, that engine predates that time period.
I would say if you are using higher octane gas than the minimum that's the best you can do, I personally use at least 89 in mine, or higher.

Hello! The Rebuild engine is in the place! 😅

I sanded and repainted the whole boat, it was a priority before putting the new engine in and the weather is bad in march and april too... When i see the sun this weekend, I disassembled the old engine and install the rebuild engine in the boat.

Not ready to run but, it's a big step for me 😁

Today i disassembled exhaust pipes, carburator, ignition éléments etc...(On the old engine) ready to rebuild on the new engine (when the sun become 😅)

Hope you get good weather so you can finish the project. Boats are like houses you’re never “really” done!
