Impellers

Flexible water pump impellers are the key to keeping your engine block cooled during operation. The impeller rides on the drive shaft and draws water in, then pumps it up to circulate around the block and head. Inspecting and replacing your impeller is a regular maintenance task for any outboard motor. Impellers wear faster in gritty or sandy conditions. When an impeller fails completely, it can cause an engine to overheat very quickly.
