    Time For A New Fuel Pump?

    I was getting really bad pump whine the other day. Pulled the regulator out, cleaned off the gunk and it seemed to fix the problem for about 2 hours. Got back to the dock and the pump started whining pretty hard at low rpm and idle. Replace the whole assembly or just the high/low pressure pump?

    I know on this engine the block is cooled via heat exchanger and coolant, the raw water I believe only cools the exhaust system. Not sure what Degas bottle/HX mean?

    This engine does have a heat exchanger, and there is a flush port like the image below (little blue connector).

    If anybody is visiting this thread looking for an answer, see below. The fix was to circulate the power steering system to release all air, top off the power steering tank with fresh fluid, repeat multiple times until all air was out of the system, and the system was full of fluid.
