    OK, thanks. Another question I have. I replaced the pinion bearing. As far as I can tell, I put the new bearing right where the old bearing was in the driveshaft channel. I can't tell if the retaining screw is making contact with the new pinion bearing. Should it be?

    Hello all, I am rebuilding my lower gear unit on my 1983 Johnson 115 HP V4 and I ordered seal kit, part number 18-2692 from Marine Engine. I cannot figure out where the O-ring, part number 322598 goes that came in the kit. Does anyone know where it goes? Thanks, Richard
